Prepare and sign the contract

Turn the quote into a contract you both sign. You each get the same signed copy.

  1. Step 1: Open the contract for your job.

  2. Step 2: Press Prepare the contract, or Prepare it for a job in Spain.

  3. Step 3: In the card Template, check the template matches where the job is.

  4. Step 4: In the card Section by section, open each section in turn. Fill it in, then press Save and approve. Start with How the price works and finish with Other terms in plain English.

  5. Step 5: In The property before work starts, add photos, notes and any surveys. Your client can add to it too. Tick The condition record is complete and press Save and approve.

  6. Step 6: When every section says Approved, scroll down to the cream box Sign and send. Tick the box. Then type your full name in Type your full name to sign.

  7. Step 7: Press Sign and send to your client's name.

What happens next

The contract is locked and sent. Your client agrees each section, then signs. You both get the signed PDF in your documents and by email. If they ask about a section, you'll get an email. To change anything before they sign, press Start version 2 on the same page.

Good to know

  • The templates and standard terms are a plain-English starting point, not legal advice. Changes are kept within safe limits. You can set your own standard terms.
  • A homeowner can usually cancel within 14 days. Don't start work within that time unless they've asked you to in writing.
